So here is my 2007 mixed tape with all my most fav songs of the year. In this list you will find a lil taste of the honest, the abrasive, the soft and sensual, the hidden attacks and the lost lullabies.

I chose the first song "Barnes" by Pinback to open her on up because of its funky intro and chilln vibe that just rolls the song on out and sets the mood for the upcoming hour. Track four -- "Hope and Fear" by Geronimo then ups-the-ante with its snappy foot tappn tempo that will have you vertical with adrenaline pumping in 21 seconds flat.

Track five "Limit to Your Love" brings you back down with a gorgeous piano piece and Feist serenade. Continuing on, you will encounter the eerie sounds of Arcade Fire’s Black wave/bad vibrations that will have you questioning your own existence. Picking the pace back up is track 11, "We’re So Beyond This" by the Reason featuring Sara from Tegan and Sara….this is a poppy number that you will want to skip back to take one more listen. Changing it up some comes track 15, "Elephant" by Shellac -- this tune will make you hear things a bit differently with some distorted guitar and abstract lyrics.

Moving on and as the hour closes out, you hear something beautiful in the distance and as it builds and takes you on it’s yellow brick road you realize it is none other than Explosions in the Sky playing "Welcome Ghosts". Now the hour has passed and the CD is coming to its end, but there is still one song just beginning: track 22, "Humble Peasants" by Most Serene Republic, who finishes off my mix proper with the works, bells, horns and whistles.

I can’t help but notice that my last paragraph has taken on a bit of a fairy tale style, I don’t know how this happened exactly but I guess the holiday cheer sneaked its way in. Anyways, enjoy and happy holidays
Smile
