TWMFEST Spotlight w/ Beth in Battle Mode

Mike: How did the band come together?
Andrew: Ed and Dave already had the band, and I offered to add organ to a few songs for a show. Somehow, that's turned into two and a half years
Ed: Gawd...has it been that long?
Mike: What's been changing with the band since the release of Technical Know-How?
Dave: The meads have definitely become headier and our music tanks are giving us much better miles to the gallon. In other words ... gas is expensive (or we sound better).
Ed: I think the pre-Technical Know-How us would think our new songs are way too long and way too prog…but those guys are effin' simpletons.
Mike: I noticed there's a lot of robotic artwork on your site and on show posters, is this indictive to the music at all or do you just really love robots like I do?
Dave: Sometimes you need a robot to make decisions for you. Humans can be too emotional and get bogged down in the intricacies of "life".
Ed: We love the concept of 'science' in general (whatever that means). In terms of our music we definitely use 'sciencey' and synthetic sounding instruments.... but we present them in an incredibly sloppy and very non-robotic manner. Robots would probably hate Beth In Battle Mode – thankfully, humans seem down with us.
Dave: Actually, we only like the comic-y idea of robots, as most real robots are kinda lame.
Mike: What do you guys have in store for the Two Way Monologues fest?
Andrew: Some new stuff, some old stuff; we'll figure it out at rehearsal tonight, I guess.
Dave: We might hit you in the solar-plexus with a few crushing blows (with music) but then we'll cradle you in our bosoms and nurse you back to health (with music).
Mike: What's coming up in the near future for Beth in Battle Mode that you're excited about?
Dave: Probably some affordable beer, some cheese nachos and maybe a 2nd album, if you're lucky . . you ravenous dogs!
Mike: With it being the anniversary of the Two Way Monologues showcases, is there anything you want to say to Dan about the past year?
Andrew: I'll slur it drunkenly to Dan at our show, instead of in a public forum such as this. It'll be more genuine that way.
Edward: Dan's done an awesome job. We've all played at Rancho in one band or another for the last 8 years, or something - and it's better than it's ever been, I'd say. TWM seem to consistently pack the place.
Mike: Do you have anything else you want to add?
Ed: No, i have a calculator watch for that.
Andrew: I like to add jam to porridge. It really adds some flavour to an otherwise flavourless breakfast.
